Day 2 Arrive Hanoi (Meals: D)
Arrive Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, transfer to hotel.
Day 3 Hanoi (Meals: B/D)
After breakfast, visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex. This famous site contains the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. Continue to the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam and the impressive Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. The beautiful West Lake and the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history, are not to be missed. Continue to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem. This evening, enjoy your dinner at Cha ca street with “Cha Ca La Vong”, a favorite dish of Hanoian, followed by the Water Puppet Show, the unique Vietnamese traditional art.
Day 4 Hanoi - Halong Bay (Meals: B/L/D)
After breakfast, transfer to Halong Bay, where features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes with 1969 islets. After check-in, enjoy a refreshing “Welcome Cocktail” on the sun deck. Vietnamese seafood lunch is served at the restaurant. A fantastic cruise will take you to exotic islets with Dog Island, Incense Urn island, Sail island, Fighting Cocks island, which are naturally formed by process of erosion between the sea water and limestone mountains. Visit by Tender to see the Sung Sot Caves if weather permit.
Day 5 Halong Bay - Hanoi - Lao Cai (Meals: B/L)
After the International Brunch Buffet, checkout and disembark at boat port in Halong city. Transfer back to Hanoi and free at your leisure until 9:00 pm, you are transferred to train station to take overnight train to Lao Cai.
Day 6 Lao Cai - Sapa (Meals: B)
Arrive Lao Cai station early in the morning, then transfer to Sapa. Enjoy the picturesque scenery along the way leading towards Sapa, a mountainous area of stunning natural beauty and diverse ethnic minorities. Transfer to hotel and have breakfast at hotel. Free time to discover Sapa town. This afternoon, transfer to Ta Van village, take a two-hour trekking tour through a terrace paddy field and discover lifestyle of the Dzay minority.
Day 7 Sapa Trekking (Meals: B)
Breakfast at hotel, free day at your leisure. Afternoon, take a short trek to Cat Cat village, where you will discover the real daily life of ethnic people by chatting with them. After dinner, enjoy the atmosphere of Love Market that lasts over Saturday night.
Day 8 Sapa - Lao Cai - Hanoi (Meals: B)
After breakfast, you will walk to visit Ham Rong landscape. Free afternoon until transfer to Lao Cai station to catch the overnight train to Hanoi.
Day 9 Hanoi - Duong Lam Ancient Village (Meals: B)
Arrive Hanoi early in the morning. Free at leisure until check-in to hotel at noon. This afternoon, transfer to Duong Lam ancient village - the homeland of Ngo Quyen & Phung Hung - 2 national heroes in Vietnamese history. Walking around the village, visit local farmer’s house, where you are hosted with green tea and introduced how to make soya bean source. Return to Hanoi.
Day 10 Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Tam Coc (Meals: B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Then drive to Ninh Binh called as “Halong Bay on land” - the same limestone rocks as in Halong Bay but seen from a winding stream through paddy fields instead of the sea. Enjoy spectacular scenery during the boat trip to Tam Coc caves with visit of the Bich Dong Pagoda. Lunch at local restaurant. Return to Hanoi this afternoon and free at your leisure. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner.
Day 11 Hanoi - Canada (B)
After breakfast, transfer to airport and depart for your hometown. It is the same day when you arrive home as you will re-cross the International Dateline.
